Will you discuss your career journey?

I have had an atypical career for a Wall Street CEO. I was born and raised in a very small town in the southern tier of New York state, attending the State University of Binghamton in upstate New York and came to New York City with a dollar and a dream to work on Wall Street. I always worked side jobs, whether it was in college or during my first few years on Wall Street, to make ends meet. I always wanted to live in Manhattan, so I worked waiting tables at night and on the weekends to make that happen. As all my friends went to the Hamptons, I went back to work more. A few short years later, I believe I was the youngest Managing Director at Oppenheimer and Co. and ran their Midtown office in New York City by the age of 30. I then moved to Hong Kong and headed up Oppenheimer Asia’s Professional Investor Group for three years. From there, I joined Morgan Stanley, one of the world’s largest elite investment banks. I believe those various experiences, my entrepreneurial nature, and my constant work ethic prepared me for what came next and that was to go out on my own, and purchase a broker dealer.

That is what Dominari is today and I am the largest individual shareholder owning approximately 30 percent of the company, much of which I purchased myself in the market.

How do you define Dominari’s mission?

Our main mission is to generate an outsized return for our investors. We have done this in various ways, but our key has been to create unique investment structures to gain access to highly compelling investments. One of the unique investment strategies has been our Dominari Series SPVs focused on gaining for ourselves and our clients access to some of the most sought-after private technology investments in the AI, space, and defense sectors.

Another investment vehicle we have created, which is more as a venture-focused merchant bank for younger companies, is our American Ventures Series SPVs, where we look for young companies in compelling industries that we can fund, advise and take public either via a traditional IPO or by merging them into an existing public company or a SPAC.

An overarching thesis is that the companies we look to invest in, whether large or small, are American companies looking to grow, compete and dominate in new technology fields.

“Our main mission is to generate an outsized return for our investors. We have done this in various ways, but our key has been to create unique investment structures to gain access to highly compelling investments.”

What have been the keys to the strength of Dominari, and how do you define the Dominari difference?

As mentioned before, our ability to create unique access to the most compelling investments in the unicorn space and our ability to create compelling products and investments to help incubate the next unicorns. This truly is our ethos; find great investment ideas and structure them in compelling ways for ourselves and our investors to have asymmetrical returns.

Will you provide an overview of Dominari’s services and capabilities?

We are a full-service broker dealer and RIA. Our major focus is on investment banking and alternative investments. One of the things that truly differentiates us is that we don’t just sell other people’s funds and products, but instead create our own products and investments and, most of the time I, along with my partners and friends, are the lead investors in our own deals. I think that means something to our clients since we put our own money where our mouth is.

How is Dominari empowering entrepreneurs to achieve extraordinary success?

One of our mottos is that we are entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. I believe I have instilled an entrepreneurial culture in all of our employees and we generally look to work with like-minded entrepreneurs. Someone once said to me, “If you can dream it, you can achieve it.” Those are words we live by and try to instill in all of our partners.

“An overarching thesis is that the companies we look to invest in, whether large or small, are American companies looking to grow, compete and dominate in new technology fields.”

Will you highlight some of Dominari’s recent transactions?

Via our Dominari Master Series SPV we have been able to help our clients gain access to some of the most sought after unicorns such as, SpaceX, xAI, Groq, Cerebras Systems, and Anduril. Via American Ventures Master Series SPV, our merchant bank which focuses on early stage companies, we took Unusual Machines (UMAC on Nasdaq), a leading American drone company that I funded personally with a few others from the first round, public on the NYSE via an IPO. Since then, we have raised over $250 million for them, and their market cap is now over $1 billion. We also were some of the original founders of American Bit Coin (ABTC), which was an idea created by a small group of friends which became one of the fastest companies in history ever to list on Nasdaq. We have merged an Israeli AI drone company named Extend into a Nasdaq public company which, on a fully diluted basis, is approximately a billion-dollar company. We merged PowerUs (PUSA), an American heavy drone ordinance company, into a Nasdaq company which is also approximately a billion-dollar public company as of today. We merged Kaz Resources (KAZR), which is the largest Tungsten mine outside of Chinese control in the world based in Kazakhstan, into a Nasdaq company as well. This company is very important in helping the U.S. to secure critical metals that are used for the defense and space industry and help lessen our dependence on China for critical metals and rare earth materials. We also recently launched a $345-million SPAC called the New America Acquisition Corp which is focused on investing in American companies to help create jobs in American-based fast growing technology and manufacturing industries. Recently, via our American Ventures Opportunities SPV, we were allocated $200 million of the SpaceX IPO from Goldman Sachs.

What sectors do you feel offer the greatest opportunities for growth?

I believe the American economy is the most dynamic in the world by far. The industries I am looking at are symbiotic in my opinion and will all benefit tremendously from each other’s growth: autonomous vehicles, whether in the air, ground or sea; humanoid robotics; small module nuclear reactors (SMR’s); everything related to the space industry – rocketry and satellites; quantum computing; and the fast growing longevity industry.

“One of our mottos is that we are entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs. I believe I have instilled an entrepreneurial culture in all of our employees and we generally look to work with like-minded entrepreneurs.”

How do you focus your efforts leading Dominari?

It’s very simple. I focus my efforts on everything I have discussed – finding leading American technology companies to invest in, whether unicorns or venture, structuring them in a way that is best for our investors and typically leading each investment personally as the anchor investor. I believe to this day in being the first one to work and the last one to leave every day. I work every day that ends in the letter Y. Another wise man once said, “If you truly love what you do, you will never work a day in your life.” I guess that defines me.

How valuable has it been for Dominari to build such a strong advisory board?

We have an amazing advisory board – the best on Wall Street. They have made many strategic introductions over the years, brainstormed many times as to where we think the market is moving and where the puck is going, investing alongside us in many of our deals, and publicly supporting Dominari.

Most importantly, they are just like-minded friends who have a similar investment thesis around what they invest in and advise great American companies to help them be industry and world leaders for many years to come.

What are your priorities for Dominari as you look to the future?

Much of what I have mentioned is what I would like to keep. I want to keep our entrepreneurial culture, a thesis to create unique access to the best unicorns in the world and opportunities to invest in them, and helping the next generation technology companies access the capital markets within a structure that is best for our investors and the companies as well. I would like Dominari to stay lean and mean as I believe that is important to create outsized asymmetrical returns.
