Creating a top-tier destination for selective aviation clients, Sarah Mespelt Larranaga (sarahstream.com) has designed and delivered over 100 aircraft from Gulfstream Aerospace, Falcon Jet, Bombardier, Boeing, and Airbus. From design ideation and aircraft customization to final delivery, her team exists to make first-rate interiors and exteriors the client’s reality. In private aviation, luxury refinement merges aesthetics, mechanics, and user experience. Her team intends to exceed client expectations by designing and spearheading cutting-edge interiors and exteriors. Nineteen years of experience across aviation design, engineering, project management, and maintenance oversight has led to the execution of successful project outcomes.

Will you discuss your career journey?

My career began as an intern at Gulfstream Aerospace, where I developed a strong foundation in aircraft design and engineering. From there, I worked on aircraft completions and with aircraft brokers, gaining experience in design, project management, client representation, budgets, and aircraft value. Those experiences ultimately led me to create Sarah Larranaga Aviation Design, bringing everything I learned together under my own company. My husband is an assistant coach in the NBA and that has taken us around the country and now I’m so grateful to have a design studio for clients in Los Angeles and a new one coming soon in Dallas.

What was your vision for creating the company?

I strived to create a white-glove service, delivering bespoke aircraft interiors, exteriors, avionics, and engineering expertise from initial concept through final delivery. With 19 years of experience, we seamlessly unite sophisticated design, innovative technology, and precision craftsmanship to transform every aircraft into an exceptional expression of luxury, performance, and individuality.

The strength and growth come from combining creative design with technical aviation expertise, and hands-on project oversight. A strong focus on quality, budget, schedule, aircraft value, and attention to detail has built lasting client relationships, industry trust, and a reputation for delivering exceptional aircraft from concept through completion.

Where do you see the greatest opportunities for growth?

The greatest opportunity is expanding to full white glove aircraft “lifecycle” services. This would mean from aircraft acquisition and design through technology upgrades, refurbishment, maintenance oversight, and resale while continuing to grow within the large-cabin and VIP aircraft market.

How do you approach your leadership style?

My leadership style is collaborative, hands-on, and built on mutual respect. With employees, I encourage creativity, accountability, and attention to detail. With artisans and craftspeople at completion centers, I respect their expertise and work alongside them to find solutions that achieve the design vision while maintaining the highest standards of quality and craftsmanship.
